Making Kombucha

Kombucha is a great digestive tonic, it is a powerful aid to the body's natural cleansing process, it boosts the immune system, and a proven prophylactic against cancer and other degenerative diseases.

Kombucha
  • 3 quarts filtered water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 4 tea bags of organic black tea
  • 1/2 cup kombucha from previous culture
  • 1 Kombucha mushroom
Bring water to a boil. Add sugar and summer until dissolved. Remove from heat, add the tea bags and allow the tea to steep until water has completely cooled. Remove tea bags. Pour cooled liquid into a 4-quart bowl and add 1/2 cup kombucha from previous batch. Place mushroom on top of the liquid. Cover with towel or cloth and secure rubber band around the top. Transfer to a warm, dark place, away from contaminants and insects. In about 7-10 days the kombucha will be ready, and possibly fizzy, with no taste of tea remaining. Transfer to covered glass containers and store in the refrigerator.

  2. Sis.Lori and i ordered a kombucha started kit online. From there she made the first batch. With every batch a new mushroom grows so you can give your mushrooms away. So if you wanted to make your own you could 1.Order a started kit online or 2.Get a free mushroom and some starter tea from me =).
